Sir Dancelot is based in Llanidloes, Mid Wales. We have played together for over 15 years and are much in demand for ceildhs and twmpathau throughout Wales, the Borders and Midlands. With English and Welsh tunes at the core, our varied repertoire spans Europe from Brittany to the Balkans, Scandinavia to Spain, as well as music from the Slavic lands and Yiddish shtetls. Our love of playing this broad variety of traditional music shines through in the performance and enables us to accompany dances from the liveliest jigs, reel and polkas to stately waltzes. We can also offer more exotic things, such as an dros, eastern European circle dances and even French Canadian bourrées.
Mid Wales ceilidh band Sir Dancelot members have over 140 years of musical experience between them. Several are multi-instrumentalists who play in other bands and genres too, bringing an energy, variety and texture to the music and performance you won’t find elsewhere. We have a pool of equally experienced dance callers who can expertly judge the ability and energy of the dancers.

A Wonderful Performance
